Rugged natural beauty of Harris inspires everything we do

Our rebrand, Essence of Harris, launches soon! You’ll have seen we’ve been sharing a lot about the upcoming changes through our social media channels and monthly e-newsletter. This is because we want to take you on the journey with us. We really do pride ourselves in delivering high quality products that only contain the finest ingredients. It’s thanks to all your support and love for the original Buth Bheag brand that we’ve got to where we are in the world of candles so we want to assure you that the Essence of Harris products will still be available in the scents that you love.  The rebrand is all about restyling our logo and packaging with the name change from Buth...

Team Changes

At Essence of Harris we create products we can be proud of. And to make this happen, we’ve got brilliant people behind the scenes who inspire all that we do. That's why we're always looking for talented and ambitious folks to come and join us. Being a family business from the beginning, we’ve got strong values and remain true to our roots here on the Isle of Harris. Recently we’ve bid farewell to the lovely Cat, who’s been with us for the last two years while Buth Bheag Candle Co has grown from strength to strength. Pop-up at Scotland's Salmon Festival

We’re heading to the mainland for a weekend at Scotland’s Salmon Festival! Those of you in Inverness or the surrounds on the 1st and 2nd September, be sure to stop by Bught Park. Introducing Essence of Harris

Buth Bheag Candle Co have been hand-pouring our candles, reed diffusers and wax melts for over two years and we’re really proud to say that we’ve grown from our humble beginnings to now work with 33 stockists and run two of our own shops. If you follow us on social media, you’ll have noticed we’ve been out on the road across Scotland with our rather snazzy branded mini. It’s sparked a lot of intrigue as our followers see ‘Essence of Harris’ rather than the well-known ‘Buth Bheag Candle Co’ branding. These changes...

They are very simple to use; reeds are inserted into a glass bottle or glass jar of scented diffuser oil, the reeds soak up the scent and emit a pleasant aroma around your home - easy! Unlike candles, reed diffusers are flame free and do not require any heat. They disperse scent into the air naturally. No flame means no soot and more importantly, no risk of fire! This makes reed diffusers a more practical scent solution for some homes. What reeds do we use in our diffusers? We use ‘Porex eReeds’ which are innovatively designed for a high-performance fragrance throw as the...
